What is next door
Walking the ocean floor at low tide and hunting beach glass along the Knook's own shoreline can fill a day on their own. Everything below is an easy drive from the door.
Seacow Head Lighthouse
The lighthouse is one minute from the door. It was Gus Pike's home and a filming location for Avonlea, and you can see it from the common room and the guest rooms.
An easy drive
New Glasgow Lobster Suppers
The Island's best-known lobster supper, served in New Glasgow since 1958: lobster with soup, salad, rolls and dessert, in the community hall style that started it.
Beach Goats
A herd of gentle goats that spend their days on a natural beach on the western shore, happy to walk the sand with you. Book ahead through Tourism PEI.

Green Gables Heritage Place in Cavendish is the farmhouse that inspired the novels, run by Parks Canada with the Haunted Wood and Lover's Lane trails alongside.
Lucy Maud Montgomery sites
Her birthplace in New London is a short drive north. Closer to the Knook, the one-room L.M. Montgomery Lower Bedeque School at 950 Callbeck Street is where she taught in 1897 and 1898.
The Bottle Houses

Canadian Potato Museum
The story of the Island's biggest crop, in O'Leary: potato-related farm machinery, agricultural and community artifacts, and a kitchen.
Top Notch Lobster Tours
Go out on a working lobster boat from Charlottetown, haul traps with the crew, and finish with a lobster meal on board.
Beverly keeps current hours and directions for all of these at the house, and during fishing season she can point you to a lobster excursion.
Or stay right here
The red sand cliffs, the beach at low tide and the sunsets from the deck are reason enough to stay put, and the common room has board games, cards and movies for a rainy day.
